Bands Announced For The 33rd Annual Northwest Ohio Rib Off
Tickets for August concerts now on sale!
The Blade’s 33rd Annual Northwest Ohio Rib Off presented by Taylor Automotive Family will take place this summer from August 18 to 21 at the Lucas County Fairgrounds in Maumee, Ohio.
War, known for their hit songs “Spill The Wine,” “The Cisco Kid,” “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” “Low Rider,” and “Summer,” will play on Thursday, August 18. The Long Beach, CA band is well known for its fusion of rock, funk, jazz, Latin and R&B.
On Friday, August 19, country artist Rodney Atkins takes the stage. His hits, “If You’re Going Through Hell (Before The Devil Even Knows)” and “Watching You” were ranked as the top country songs for 2006 and 2007, according to Billboard Year-End. Other chart-toppers include “These Are My People,” “Cleaning This Gun (Come On In Boy),” and “Take A Back Road.”
He will be followed by Easton Corbin, who had two number one hits in 2010 with “A Little More Country Than That,” and “Roll With It.”
Rock group .38 Special will take the stage on Saturday, August 20. Their southern rock sound blending perfectly with the scent of barbeque, they will perform such hits as “Hold On Loosely,” “Caught Up In You,” “If I’d Been The One,” and “Back Where You Belong.”
New this year, the 12th Annual African American Festival will be joining the Rib Off on Sunday. Local entertainment will begin at 1pm with headliner, Bishop Marvin Sapp at 6pm. Bishop Sapp released his first CD in 1996, his hits “Nothing Else Matters”, “Be Exalted”, “Here I Am”, “Never Would I Have Made It” and his latest, “Yes You Can” was released in June, 2015.
As always, plenty of barbeque will be available from pitmasters right here in Toledo and from as far away as Texas. The event is a part of the National Barbecue Cookers Association. All NBCA members are certified Food Safety Professionals.
Tickets to the Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows of the Northwest Ohio Rib Off are available now at etix.com, the Stranahan Theatre, and at Toledo locations of The Andersons and Tireman.

A portion of the proceeds from the Riboff will benefit Veterans Matter, a nonprofit that provides housing for homeless veterans. More information about the organization can be found at veteransmatter.org.
